Compression rebuilds each page as an image. Selectable text, links, and forms are not kept. Results vary: image-heavy PDFs shrink more than text-heavy ones.
Examples: 1 · 1-5 · 1,3,5 · 1-3,7,10-12
JPG uses a white background. PNG and WebP can keep transparency when the page has it.
Choose a PDF to view metadata.
Removes standard Info fields such as Title and Author when possible. This is not a full privacy wipe: body text, annotations, embedded files, and XMP may still contain data. The PDF library may rewrite Producer when saving.

How it works
- 01 Choose Compress PDF, PDF to Images, or PDF Metadata.
- 02 Open a PDF. Filename, size, and page count appear after it loads.
- 03 Set options for that mode, then run the action.
- 04 Download the new PDF, image, or ZIP. The original file on disk is unchanged.

What is PDF Optimizer & Converter?
One browser workspace to compress a PDF, turn pages into images, and view or clear document Info metadata—without uploading the file.
Compress PDF files
Compression here redraws each page as a JPEG and builds a new PDF. It can shrink image-heavy files, but it is not a lossless “optimize streams only” tool.
Why PDF compression results vary
Savings depend on how many large images the PDF already has, prior compression, fonts, and how much of the file is text or vectors. Already-small text PDFs may barely shrink—or grow.
High quality vs small file
High quality uses a higher render scale and JPEG quality. Balanced is the default. Small file uses a lower scale and stronger JPEG compression.
Convert PDF pages to images
This mode renders each page as a picture. It is different from Extract Images from PDF, which pulls embedded image resources out of the file.
PDF to JPG
JPG is good for photos and smaller downloads. Transparent areas become white.
PDF to PNG
PNG is lossless and can keep transparency. Files are often larger than JPG.
PDF to WebP
WebP can be smaller than JPG or PNG while keeping good quality. Support depends on your browser.
View and remove PDF metadata
See Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, and dates from the document Info dictionary, then save a copy with those fields cleared when possible.
What PDF metadata contains
Info fields can include who created the file, a title, keywords, and software names. They do not cover everything stored inside a PDF.
What metadata removal does not remove
Clearing Info fields does not erase page text, annotations, embedded files, form data, or all XMP. Do not treat it as complete personal-data removal.
How to use this tool
Choose a mode, open a PDF, adjust options, then run Compress, Convert, or Create PDF without metadata. Download the result when it is ready.
Privacy
Processing runs in your browser. The PDF is not uploaded to a NEXNARA server.
FAQ
Why doesn't my PDF get much smaller?
Text-heavy or already-compressed PDFs often save little. Image-heavy scans usually shrink more.
Will PDF compression reduce quality?
Yes. Pages are re-encoded as images. Use High quality when you need sharper pages.
Will compressed PDF text remain selectable?
Usually no. Image-based compression does not keep a text layer.
Are links and forms kept after compression?
No. Links, forms, and annotations are not preserved in the compressed output.
Can I convert every PDF page to JPG?
Yes. Choose PDF to Images, All pages, and JPG. Multiple pages download as a ZIP.
What is the difference between Extract Images and PDF to Images?
Extract Images pulls embedded pictures from the PDF. PDF to Images renders each full page as a new image.
Can I convert PDF pages to PNG or WebP?
Yes. Pick PNG or WebP in PDF to Images. PNG quality settings are hidden because PNG is lossless.
What metadata can a PDF contain?
Common Info fields include Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, and dates.
Can I remove the author from a PDF?
Yes. Open PDF Metadata and create a PDF without metadata to clear Author and related Info fields when possible.
Does removing metadata remove all personal information?
No. Content on the pages, annotations, embedded files, and some XMP can remain.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Work stays in your browser.
How large can my PDF be?
Hard limits match other NEXNARA PDF tools: 80 MB and 400 pages. Very large files may still fail if the browser runs out of memory.
