What is Download Web Video?

This tool saves public web video in your browser when the host allows it. It can use a direct file URL, media addresses found in a page the browser is allowed to read, or an unencrypted HLS playlist. It does not use a proxy, log in, or bypass DRM.

How does web video downloading work?

Your browser requests the URL you paste. If that URL is a video file, it can preview and save it when CORS allows. If the URL is a readable HTML page, the tool looks for video, source, Open Graph, JSON-LD, and file-like media addresses. If the URL is an unencrypted HLS playlist, it concatenates the segments. NEXNARA never fetches the file on a server.

What is a direct video URL?

A direct video URL points at the media file itself, for example https://example.com/video.mp4. A watch page can work only if this site is allowed to read that page and the page exposes a real media URL. Most large video platforms block that.

Why can't some videos be downloaded?

The host may block cross-site reads (CORS), require a login, use DRM or encrypted HLS, use DASH, or keep the file too large for memory. A disclaimer does not change those browser and legal limits. This tool does not proxy, decrypt, or break site access controls.

What is CORS?

CORS is a browser rule that stops one website from reading files from another site unless that site allows it. A video can still play in the preview while download stays blocked. NEXNARA does not use a proxy to bypass that rule.

Supported video formats

Direct files such as MP4, WebM, Ogg, MOV, MKV, AVI, MPEG-TS, and similar containers can be saved when the host lets the browser read them. Preview still depends on HTML5 codec support. Unencrypted HLS can be joined into a .ts or .mp4 file. DASH and encrypted streams are not supported.

Browser compatibility

Preview uses the built-in HTML5 video player. Download as a file needs the video server to allow cross-origin reads. Mobile browsers, especially Safari on iOS, may open the video in a new tab instead of saving a file.

Privacy

NEXNARA does not upload the URL or the video file to our servers, and nothing is stored in cookies or local storage for this tool. The external video host will still see a request from your browser, because the file is loaded directly from that URL.

Responsible use

What is a direct video URL?

It is a link that ends at the video file itself, such as an MP4 or WebM address. A website page can still work if the browser is allowed to read it and the page includes a real media URL.

Which video formats are supported?

Common video files the host allows the browser to read, including MP4, WebM, Ogg, MOV, MKV, AVI, and MPEG-TS. Unencrypted HLS playlists can be concatenated. Files are not converted here.

Why does a video play but cannot be downloaded?

The player can show a video even when the server blocks other websites from reading the file. In that case the tool offers Open Video instead of a guaranteed download.

Why does CORS block some downloads?

Browsers only let this site save a file from another host if that host sends permission headers. NEXNARA does not proxy or bypass that restriction.

Can I download streaming playlists?

Unencrypted HLS (.m3u8) can be saved when the playlist and segments are readable in the browser. Encrypted HLS and DASH (.mpd) are not assembled here.

Does NEXNARA upload my video?

No. The file is not uploaded to NEXNARA. Your browser talks to the video URL you enter.

Can I use this tool on mobile?

Yes. You can load and preview a video URL on a phone. Saving a file still depends on the video server and on the mobile browser.

Can I download YouTube videos?

This is not a YouTube bypass. It saves public web videos the browser can read, the way people save clips from the web. Large sites such as YouTube usually block that.
