What is an Image Converter?

An image converter changes a picture from one file format to another, such as PNG to JPG or JPG to WebP. This tool runs in your browser. The pixel width and height stay the same; only the format changes.

How to convert an image

  1. Drop an image onto the box, or choose a file from your device.
  2. Check the original format and size, then choose JPG, PNG, or WebP as the output.
  3. Set quality for JPG or WebP if you need to, then select Convert Image. Work happens on your device.
  4. Compare the result, download the converted file, or convert again to a different format without re-uploading.

JPG vs PNG vs WebP

JPG is widely used for photos and does not keep transparency. PNG can keep a transparent background and is lossless. WebP often makes smaller files and can keep transparency when the browser can encode it.

Transparency considerations

PNG and WebP can include transparent pixels. Converting those files to JPG fills transparent areas with a background color (white by default). Converting to PNG or WebP keeps transparency when the source has it. Converting a JPG to PNG does not create a new transparent background.

Image quality

JPG and WebP use a quality setting. The default is 90%. Lower values usually make a smaller file and can add visible loss. PNG is lossless, so there is no quality slider.

Privacy

Conversion runs in your browser. The image you choose is not sent to NEXNARA servers.

FAQ

Which image formats can I convert?

You can convert between JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Other formats are not accepted. Files larger than 20 MB are rejected.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The image stays in your browser for this tool and is not uploaded to NEXNARA.

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the background color, which is white unless you choose another color.

Does image conversion reduce quality?

JPG and WebP can lose some detail, especially at lower quality. PNG is lossless. Same-format conversion still re-encodes the file.

Can I convert images on mobile?

Yes. The tool works in modern mobile browsers. Very large photos may take longer or fail if the device runs out of memory.
