What is an Image Compressor?

An image compressor reduces the file size of a picture so it is easier to store or send. This tool runs in your browser. You keep the same format: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, and WebP stays WebP.

Image quality and file size

For JPG and WebP, lower quality usually makes a smaller file and can add visible loss. A setting around 80% is a reasonable starting point. PNG is lossless, so the quality slider does not apply, and the file often stays close to the original size.

Can I compress images on mobile?

Yes. The tool works in modern mobile browsers. Very large photos may take longer or fail if the device runs out of memory.

Why doesn't my PNG become much smaller?

PNG is a lossless format. This tool re-encodes PNG without stripping transparency and without converting it to JPG. If the original file is already well compressed, the size may stay the same or even grow; in that case the original file is kept.
