What is Image to Text?
Image to Text is a browser OCR tool. It reads printed characters in an image and turns them into editable text. You can use it for screenshots, photos of documents, or other pictures that contain writing.
How to use this tool
- Drop an image onto the box, or choose a file from your device.
- Select one to three languages of the text in the image. This can be different from the NEXNARA site language.
- Select Extract Text and wait while recognition runs on your device.
- Edit the result if needed, then copy it or download a TXT file.
Privacy
Recognition runs in your browser. The image you choose is not sent to NEXNARA servers. The OCR engine and language files are loaded in the browser so the work can happen on your device.
Supported image formats
You can use JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20 MB. Other formats are not accepted. Very large pictures may be resized in memory before recognition so the browser stays responsive.
OCR accuracy
Results depend on the image. Clear, well-lit printed text works best. Small type, blur, handwriting, unusual fonts, or busy backgrounds often produce mistakes. Check anything important before you rely on it.
FAQ
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image stays in your browser for this tool and is not uploaded to NEXNARA.
Which image formats are supported?
JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Files larger than 20 MB are rejected.
Why is some text not recognized correctly?
OCR is imperfect. Handwriting, low contrast, skewed photos, and decorative fonts are common failure cases. A sharper, straighter crop usually helps.
Can I use this on mobile?
Yes. The tool works in modern mobile browsers. Processing a large photo may take longer on a phone than on a computer.
Which languages are supported?
Choose up to three languages from the OCR list. The site language and OCR languages are separate, so you can use NEXNARA in Korean and extract English and Korean from an image, for example.
